TRACKER SCHOOL

TTTK9 Professional Tracker School located in Edisto Island, SC.

This school is truly the first of its kind in the United States. Never before has there been a full time training program specifically designed for law enforcement tracking. Unlike many other programs that concentrate on a variety of K9 disciplines, primarily detection, the TTTK9 School is pure tracking, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Our program is dedicated to the tracker and we don’t do it part time or on request; we live and breathe it. All deposits are non refundable if cancelled by the student, but transferable to new mutually agreeable dates.
We like to train in very small groups and generally host no more than 6 students at a time in a group setting.  Individual students may be paired with one or two other handlers per training day.  For more information, please contact us.

On Site Training

  • Edisto Island Tracker School Training is a maximum of 1-4 students per trainer in most situations We offer on site handler’s quarters that include room and board for handler’s and K9’s. We have large 40X40’ out door dog runs as well as indoor kennels for inclement weather as well as bathing stations and laundry.

  • We have multiple living accommodations for handlers and their dogs at the facility or very near. These homes can house from one to six person comfortably and all include kitchens, full baths, and laundry. We can easily accommodate up to 10 students at a time.

  • Completely secure and fenced in facility

  • All weaponry and ammunition provided

  • Video recording provided

  • Safety glasses or other equipment is not provided

CHOOSE A COURSE

PHASE I - BASIC COURSE

Two weeks or modified one week primer

  • This course is best taken in an extensive 10 day trailing course designed to teach the handler and dog how to work in rural and urban environments.
  • This course can also be shortened to a five days as an introductory primer for a smaller budget.
  • Day 1 consists of orientation and classroom. Days 2-5 or 2-10 are all field work with certification at the end with the TTTK9 Level 1 Exam.
  • Rural Exercises in relatively uncontaminated environments on the front end of the course finishing with urban work in contaminated areas with hard surfaces.
  • Anti-Distraction training in trailing/ tracking.
  • Introduction to the proximity alert and officer safety.
  • Proper training notes and court testimony.
  • After action reviews with video recorded during exercises.
  • Basic Trailing Level 1 Certification.

PHASE II - INTERMEDIATE COURSE

One week of adding tactical operators to the tracker dog element.

This is a counter SERE (Survival, Evasion, Reistance, Escape)

  • We teach you how to counter evasion and ambush tactics with the K9 and tactical team.
  • This is truly the be all, end all of K9 training. We teach you how to manage active evaders and conclude dangerous manhunts safely.
  • Scent pool training, back tracks, cross tracks, stairway to heaven.
  • Obstacle and barrier training
  • IED and Booby traps on the trail
  • Counter SERE
  • Counter Ambush

  • Tactical Certification from level 1-3

TTTK9 EDISTO ISLAND LODGING

Scroll through the images to view our 200-year-old modernized cabin that can sleep two comfortably or our Off The Grid Prepper house that sleeps one or a couple. Both are decked out with everything anyone would need for a vacation stay to include Satellite TV with all the channels.  Kennels will be provided upon request.  We have three other cabins off site for larger groups.

We are the only K9 training facility that offers first class Bed & Breakfast style living quarters for not only the handler but family members as well.  Furthermore, Edisto Island is a vacation paradise. We are conveniently located only five miles from Edisto Beach, 2 miles from Botany Bay, and Edisto Island offers some of the best fishing and hunting available in the US.

Train hard all week and spend your weekend with your family fishing or kayaking. If you are a hunter, book a guided boar, turkey, deer hunt with one of our local outfitters.  Train here with us once and you will come back again and again.
