SALLY SMITH

I have been working with dogs for over 16 years.  I have competed in Working Trials, Obedience, and Agility with my own dogs; and have also raised and trained Assistance and Detection dogs for other organizations. My specialist area is Detection and Trailing, and I work with Trailing Dog handlers and Air Scent Dog handlers involved in SAR, and also with Sport Dog handlers and private clients.

My teaching methods are founded in the science of animal behavior and learning.  When trailing I like to utilize the dog’s natural hunting instincts and create an environment that enables the dog to learn with clarity and through choice.  It is the best feeling in the world to build a successful working partnership with your dog and to help others do the same.
